Built on the International (IR) Framework, now governed by the IFRS Foundation, this course walks you through the architecture of Integrated Reporting: the six capitals that form its foundation, the seven principles that determine report quality, the internal management transformation called integrated thinking, and the connections between <IR> and today's regulatory landscape — including CSRD and ISSB Standards.

You will leave this course able to evaluate a report, classify an organisation's capitals, and explain why Integrated Reporting is not a formatting exercise but a fundamentally different way of thinking about value.

Course Outline

Section 1: What Integrated Reporting Is

  • Distinguish an Integrated Report from an annual financial report, a standalone sustainability report, or a combined document, so you understand exactly what the IR Framework demands — and what it does not.

Section 2: The Six Capitals: A Complete Model of Value

  • Examine all six categories of capital so you can classify your organization's resources, relationships, and dependencies with precision.

Section 3: The Seven Guiding Principles of an Integrated Report

  • Apply each of the seven principles that determine report quality.

Section 4: Integrated Thinking: The Transformation That Makes IR Work

  • Explore integrated thinking as the internal management process that an Integrated Report reflects, so you can see why the report is the output and the culture change is the work.

Section 5:  IR and the Regulatory Landscape: CSRD, ISSB, and Convergence

  • Connect IR to today's regulatory requirements so you can use it as the organising logic for meeting CSRD, ISSB, and other disclosure obligations through a single coherent narrative.

Section 6: Knowledge Check

  • Test your understanding through scenario-based questions drawn from realistic workplace situations, and leave with a clear summary of what this course covered.
